RUGOP – the RUGby OPtion

  Perhaps one of the most wonderful summer vacation I had was one that I spent last year in the Caribbean Islands because that I was the first time I was on a real vacation because before I usually have my vacation working on a farm but last year I was in the beach outside of United States and I still could remember the white beach and the blue sea because they are just a wonder to behold since I have not seen anything like it considering that I was raised in a farm in the center United States miles away from sea water and too poor to get a plane ticket. It was a month long vacation and I do not need to work because everything is paid plus I will be leaving with my girlfriend; it was her first time to go out of the county as well and she was so ecstatic with what was given to us; we stayed in one of st john resorts and it is not planned because I just won it on a lottery. The year was full of first times because it was the first time for me to go out of the nation and it was the first time for me to leave using an aircraft and it was the first time for me to go with my girlfriend so all of these are just very thrilling and when we arrived there we are briefed with the set of laws and we started swimming and eating and everything was just a blast plus when we were there we attended parties every night and we had all access to all bars and pubs.

My family expect a lot from me because they seem to think that I have a lot of potentials in becoming successful in my academic career, now that I am in third year college I always feel pressured by them.   When I made my schedule for this school semester I found out that we have a Spanish class, it was quite surprising since I never really expected that knowing that I was not a linguistics major but still I took the subject. After our first discussion with our Spanish teacher I found out something interesting that our university was actually one of the first schools in the country to become a spanish language school. All the universities were told to do so even the public schools in high school, that’s why I remembered when I was young that all my grandma and grandpa all spoke fluently in Spanish which I find really cool and interesting. I even tried researching about it and I found out that even in America their universities were also required by the government to teach Spanish language lessons to their students. Learning the language was not such a bad thing at all in fact it helped us understand more about other counties because this is their language for communication. This will not only enrich our language vocabulary but also it will help us be more effective when we deal with matters concerning others races, specially that we get to have a lot of foreign visitors in the country at least we get to understand each other well. This is also a tool for good communication to other foreign races that visits our country, with the knowledge of it we would be able to understand each other well.

Moreover, these companies are making the people believe- through their commercials- that this is among the most essential ways in order to achieve financial success and will result to meeting new friends; according to advertisers, when you avail of their latest type of the product called the wireless credit card, this one will give you more convenience, security, and confidence in financial aspects than what you experience from the old ones.   Because of the linguistic devices used in the commercials and advertisements, countless individuals are attracted to avail these cards when in fact they do not really need it which, in turn, will lead to mismanaged and impulse buying; these people become unconscious with the cost of the items they purchase and do not even keep a track with how much they have already spent for unnecessary things. One office worker said that when he ceased to use his credit card, he begun to be more aware about the costs of the items he purchases; it is also dangerous to use these cards because even though you did not buy a specific stuff, still you will have to pay for it. Credit card holders are also very prone to frauds and scams because credit card numbers can be easily stolen by commercial-targeting scammers.

Now that I think about it, I am kind of envious that my cousin is already getting married, but it is not so much as to the idea of marriage, but it is to the idea that she was able to find her perfect match, and her boyfriend truly cares for her because they have been together for over three years now and even as my cousin has this tendency to nag, the guy still chose to stick with her. I sure hope that I will be able to find my other half, and it does not have to be in a fashionable manner, I only want to be assured that I can spend the rest of my days with my best friend and my lover.

To visit China and see The Great Wall, and to run around is in my bucket list, and I hope to fulfill it one day. China’s history is really fascinating for me, their ancient knowledge about medical practices is truly impressive.
